Oris' Big Crown ProPilot launches its first bronze model

Oris' signature pilot watch, the Big Crown ProPilot, has been joined by the first bronze case model in the collection. The bronze material, which develops a patina with use, is paired with a khaki green fabric strap, creating a military look. The new model is scheduled to go on sale in late October 2021.

A pilot's watch with a bronze case that adds depth

　Oris has announced the first bronze case model in its collection of professional pilot watches, the Big Crown ProPilot. Bronze watches have become a standard in the watch industry and are becoming more and more common, but Oris is one of the brands that is actively using bronze.

　The brand's iconic model, the Big Crown Pointer Date, as well as the 2020 Hölstein Edition 20 and the Divers 65 Cotton Candy released this year, have attracted attention for their extensive use of bronze not only in the case but also in the bracelet.

　The Big Crown ProPilot Big Date Bronze, unveiled this time, features a 41mm case made of bronze and a distinctive bezel with grooves that resemble the turbine blades of a jet engine. The watch has a warm feel and will develop a unique patina over time, allowing owners to enjoy the changes in its appearance with each wear.

　Designed as a pilot's watch, this model boasts high visibility even during flight and a large crown that pilots can operate while wearing gloves. The gold-colored indexes stand out against the black dial with Arabic numerals, and the white Super-LumiNova-coated hands create a clear contrast, ensuring visibility.

　The bronze color is complemented by a khaki green fabric strap, a touch that embodies Oris' military expertise. The extremely durable Ventile® strap features a bronze lift clasp inspired by airplane seatbelt buckles.

　The Big Crown ProPilot Big Date Bronze, which is packed with pilot watch specifications, is scheduled to go on sale in late October 2021.
