Breguet celebrates the 220th anniversary of the invention of the tourbillon with the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Thin Anniversary 5365

To commemorate the 220th anniversary of Abraham-Louis Breguet's patent for the tourbillon, Breguet has unveiled the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Thin Anniversary 5365, a limited edition of just 35 pieces.

A limited edition commemorative model celebrating one of Abraham-Louis Breguet's greatest achievements: the invention of the tourbillon.

　The famous Abraham-Louis Breguet patented the tourbillon on June 26, 1801. This year marks the 220th anniversary of this monumental invention, and Breguet has released a limited edition commemorative model, the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Thin Anniversary 5365, to commemorate his achievement.

　The biggest feature of this model is the tourbillon located at 5 o'clock and the slightly offset dial for that. The tourbillon's upper bridge is made of blue steel, emphasizing the large opening.

　The gold dial features the company's signature guilloched decoration, applied by hand using a vintage guilloching machine. The center features a Clous de Paris pattern, intersecting at intervals of just 0.25 mm. Its sharpness not only enhances the aesthetic appeal, but also diffuses light, giving the dial a matte appearance and improving legibility. The outer periphery of the dial is decorated with a Glendorge pattern, tightening the overall look.

　The case follows the characteristics of the "Classic" collection, with coin-edged decoration on the sides and the lugs soldered to the case. What's surprising is that the case is only 7.08mm thick despite being equipped with an automatic tourbillon. The movement that contributes to its thinness can be seen from the case back.

　The elegantly curved bridge is intricately engraved with the diagram used by Abraham-Louis Breguet when he registered the tourbillon patent. Other details include the inscription "Anniversaire 1801-2021" on the barrel and "Brevet No. 157 Du 7 Messidor An IX" on the tourbillon bridge, further highlighting the company's commitment to honoring this shining achievement in the history of watchmaking.

　And the reason why you can enjoy these designs to the fullest, even though it is an automatic watch, is thanks to the peripheral rotor located on the outer edge of the movement.

　This timepiece is limited to just 35 pieces, each with its own serial number – the same number as the number of tourbillons Abraham-Louis Breguet produced during his lifetime.
