November 2021, Lake Biwa. Panerai hosted its ambassador Takashi Sorimachi as host for its first-ever "Bass Fishing Tour" experience in Japan. Seven owners of the "Luminor Chrono Flyback Goldtech™ Takashi Sorimachi Experience Edition" participated in the bass fishing tour.

Panerai Experience

Panerai has previously offered exclusive experiences only available to Panerai owners, such as an Italian Navy training tour and a Bora Bora tour with a freediving champion. This time, they have created a tour that will become a lifelong memory: enjoying bass fishing on Lake Biwa with Takashi Sorimachi.

Japan's first Panerai Experience: "Bass Fishing Tour"

The first day of the tour was a special Italian dinner in Kyoto. Takashi Sorimachi introduced the appeal of bass fishing in his opening speech. The second day began with a morning fishing contest on Lake Biwa, where participants competed to see who could catch the largest bass. As Takashi Sorimachi waved a flag to signal the start of the competition, the bass boats all dispersed to the fishing points. Each participant received fishing advice from Sorimachi while battling with the bass.

After bass fishing, there was a barbecue on the lakeside, where Takashi Sorimachi personally grilled rare Omi beef steaks for the participants.

Owners who participated shared their impressions, saying things like, "It was my first time trying bass fishing, and it was a lot of fun. I was happy that Takashi Sorimachi talked to me like a friend. It's a memory that will last a lifetime."

"There are many ways to learn about Lake Biwa's nature, such as watching videos, listening to people's stories, and reading articles, but I think that actually being on the lake and feeling the wind, light, and water will give you a deeper understanding of Lake Biwa and etch it into your memory. Bass fishing in particular is a sport that requires you to rely on the sense of your fingertips and concentrate while imagining the movements of the fish in the water. I think that through this fishing experience, we were able to share the splendor of Lake Biwa's nature with all the participants," said Sorimachi.
