Angelus has released a new version of its U53 model, which features a skeleton movement, a flying tourbillon, professional diving functions, an asymmetrical design, and a rotating bezel, all of which are rare for a diver's watch. Only 25 pieces will be released.
A modern and multifunctional diver's tourbillon
Angelus continues to explore the limitless possibilities of diving models. The newly announced U53 features a green color scheme, and its design and watchmaking vision is perfected by technical features and high-level finishing as a watch for diving in the ocean.

Among the many greens available, Angelus chose khaki, which gives off a casual and active image. This color is also used for the rotating ring, strap, and hands. Not only is it a sports watch, but it also gives off a chic and urban impression when worn casually in formal settings.
A diver's watch like no other
The U53 meets all the criteria for a watch intended for underwater use. The case is water-resistant to 300 meters, and the 60-minute rotating ring rotates counterclockwise only. The hands and indices are luminous, and it features a helium release valve for saturation diving. Crafted from grade 5 titanium, it is resistant to magnetic fields and scratches, yet is also lightweight, pleasant to the touch, comfortable against the skin, even in humid environments, and virtually scratch-resistant.
What sets the 46mm case apart is its performance. It features a helium release valve at 9 o'clock, a screw-down crown that controls the rotating ring at 2 o'clock, and a second screw-down crown at 4 o'clock for winding and setting the time. Additionally, the Angelus features a distinctive, bold bezel design. The bezel's distinctive deep indentations, reminiscent of a shark's fin, are eye-catching. The indentation motif is also repeated on the rotating ring, and the indexes are marked with green Arabic numerals.
This watch also distinguishes itself from classic diver watches by showcasing its movement in a spectacular way. The caliber A-300 it houses is a skeletonized movement characterized by its large bridges. The central openwork particularly emphasizes the design of the Angelus movement. The U53's design is characterised by the modern technology of the flying tourbillon and the subtle asymmetrical arrangement of the parts: the barrel at 1 o'clock, the winding at 4 o'clock, the tourbillon at 6:30, and the small seconds at 9:30.
The U53 is limited to 25 pieces and comes with both a rubber strap and a hand-stitched NATO strap.
