Speedmaster celebrating the collection's 65th anniversary

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of the brand's iconic Speedmaster collection, OMEGA has unveiled the new Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold™️. Inspired by the original Speedmaster, known as the CK2915-1, this striking timepiece features vintage-inspired details and an 18K Canopus Gold™ case.

Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold™

Omega Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold™
Manual-winding (Cal. 321B). 17 jewels. 18,000 vph. Power reserve approximately 55 hours. 18K Canopus Gold™ (diameter 38.6mm, thickness 13.92mm). Water resistant to 60m. Price: 957 million yen (tax included). Coming soon.

As the model name suggests, the 38.6mm case and bracelet are crafted from 18K Canopus Gold™. Canopus Gold™ is an 18K white gold alloy, a proprietary material developed by OMEGA in 2015. It is 100% precious metal and possesses all the standard characteristics of 18K gold, while also possessing the dazzling brilliance, whiteness and exceptional durability. Platinum, rhodium and palladium are blended into the alloy to preserve its color and stability.

Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold™

18K Canopus Gold™ is named after the bright star Canopus. Compared to the Sun, this star is 71 times larger and 1 times more luminous. Canopus's brightness and location make it an important reference point for many space agencies.

Veteran Speedmaster watch enthusiasts will also notice the Naiad logo on the crown of this model, which denotes water resistance and was actually featured on some of the original CK2915 models.

The jet-black dial is crafted from black onyx and features the vintage OMEGA logo and oval "O" that were iconic of the original model. The hands and indexes are crafted from 18K white gold with a Canopus Gold™ PVD finish. Other classic Speedmaster features include the small seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour counter subdials, as well as the central chronograph seconds hand, all faithful to the original model.

The tachymeter scale on the bezel is crafted from black "Grand Feu" enamel, and upon closer inspection, you can also see the "Dot over 90 (DON)" and "Dot diagonal to 70" – two of the original Speedmaster's signature details that collectors adore.

This piece also comes with an 18K Canopus Gold™ bracelet with a Comfort Release System that allows for easy size adjustment.

It is equipped with the caliber 321

This model is equipped with Omega's famous manual-winding chronograph movement, Caliber 321, which is based on the original movement that was fitted to the Speedmaster in 1957. This movement was also fitted to the Speedmaster worn during the Apollo program, and has the notable history of accompanying all six historic moon landings.

Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold™

Since 2019, Omega has been producing the carefully recreated Caliber 321 again, a movement that is an important element of this new model, further enhancing the Speedmaster's authenticity and heritage.

Turning the watch over reveals Omega's Seahorse motif through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, a symbol of the brand that has been featured on Speedmaster models since 1957. In keeping with the 65th anniversary model, the horse's eyes are set with precious blue sapphires.

Speedmaster Calibre 321 Canopus Gold™

To celebrate the Speedmaster's 65th anniversary, the watch comes with a special rosewood-like wooden box, the shape and design of which are inspired by the original box that came with the Speedmaster in 1957.
