TAG Heuer Announces Three New Models to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Autavia

TAG Heuer has added three new models to the TAG Heuer Autavia collection, which was launched in 1962 and is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. Two models feature flyback chronographs, and one model features a GMT function.

Three 60th Anniversary Models with Enhanced Performance

　TAG Heuer has added three new models to its Autavia collection, which was launched in 1962, to celebrate its 60th anniversary. The new models include two flyback chronograph models that are the first to use the new in-house movement, the Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback, and the first Autavia model to feature a GMT function.

　Sixty years ago, the first collection developed under Jack Heuer's leadership was the Autavia. The name Autavia is a combination of the two pillars of TAG Heuer's history: "AUTomobile" (automobile) and "AVIAtion" (aviation). When first introduced, the name was used for dashboard timers in automobiles and aircraft, but as interest in wristwatches grew, the Autavia name began to be used for wristwatches as well.

　The new TAG Heuer Autavia 60th Anniversary Flyback Chronograph is equipped with a newly developed in-house movement, the Calibre Heuer 02 COSC Flyback. This mechanism allows the chronograph hands to be reset and a new measurement to begin without stopping the chronograph, saving valuable time in pressure situations such as setting lap times on a race track.

　The Autavia chronographs, with their distinctive chronograph pushers and large crowns, are both inspired by TAG Heuer's historic dashboard timers. Two models are available: one with a silver dial and polished steel case, paying homage to the rare panda dials produced in small quantities in the 1960s; the other with a black dial and DLC-coated case, making a direct connection to the brand's military models of the past.

　Another element inherited from the original is the emphasis on chronograph legibility. Super-LumiNova is applied to the hour markers and hands, ensuring quick and clear reading. This is inspired by the Autavia collection's "73663," and large Arabic numerals are also used.

　The bidirectional rotating bezel and sapphire crystals on the front and back, two distinctive features of the Autavia DNA, further enhance the durability and practicality of the new TAG Heuer Autavia Chronograph.

　Following these chronograph models, the TAG Heuer Autavia 60th Anniversary GMT has now been added, the first Autavia to feature a GMT function. Featuring a vibrant blue sunray dial, a blue and black ceramic bezel, a polished stainless steel case, and Super-LumiNova-coated indexes and hands, it offers all the functionality of a GMT watch.

　All three models are available with either a stainless steel bracelet or an alligator strap, all of which feature a folding clasp with double push buttons, and are easily interchangeable, allowing you to choose from a selection of straps sold separately.
