Baume & Mercier launches AR try-on experience

Baume & Mercier has launched a new "Virtual Try-On" feature on its official website, allowing customers to try on watches. This AR-based service can be completed on a smartphone browser without the need for special equipment or an application. Currently, it is only available for the "Riviera" collection.

　A new feature has been added to the official Baume & Mercier website. The feature, called "Virtual Try-On/Virtual Watch Feature," allows users to try on watches using their smartphone camera.

　Similar services using AR (Augmented Reality) have already been introduced by other companies, but what makes the Virtual Try-On/Virtual Watch feature so revolutionary is that the operation can be completed on a browser, without the need for special equipment or applications.

　If a dedicated smartphone application is required, not only is it a hassle to install it, but depending on the smartphone's operating system, the application may not even be available. Removing these obstacles and making the virtual try-on experience more accessible can be seen as a user-friendly initiative.

　It's easy to use: just open the browser app on your smartphone, connect to the official Baume & Mercier website, open the page for the model you want to try on, and press the "VIRTUAL TRY-ON" button.

　Once the camera is turned on, bring your wrist closer to the lens and a watch will appear on your wrist on the screen. The closer you move your wrist, the larger the watch will appear, and the further away you move, the smaller it will appear. You can also check the details of the strap by slowly rotating your wrist. While it can't compare to the real thing when it comes to subtle details like lighting, it's very convenient to be able to try on a watch wherever you are.

　This Virtual Try-On/Virtual Watch feature is currently only available for the Riviera collection. It's a wise decision to prioritize the Riviera, which was relaunched last year and has been garnering attention, over the more popular Clifton and Classima collections. Of course, this feature will be available for other collections as well.
