Breitling launches watch subscription program "#BREITLINGSELECT" in Japan

This is likely the first time an independent watch brand like Breitling has offered such a subscription service. Customers can try out a watch first, then purchase the one they want to keep. The service, which launched in the US last year and has been well-received, is now available in Japan. To access the service, customers must register on the official website.

The annual subscription fee is 242,000 yen

　The annual subscription fee is the cost to experience Breitling for 12 months. However, if you wish to purchase a watch that you have tried out during the subscription rotation, you will be provided with a separate quote. The quote will be the official price of purchasing a new watch of the relevant model minus the annual subscription fee. From the third month after starting your subscription, you will be able to apply for a purchase through your My Account on the website, and the estimated price at that time will be available to view online.

Try 3 and buy 1 at a special price

　#BreitlingSelect subscribers can choose their favorite model from the #BreitlingSelect collection and try out up to three Breitling watches over a 12-month period. As part of the benefits, they can purchase one of the selected watches at a special price. The #BreitlingSelect collection is planned to be expanded in the future, but the timing and content of this expansion in Japan have not yet been decided.

　To use this service, you must register on Breitling's official website and pay a subscription fee of 242,000 yen (tax included) per year. The "Squad Points" awarded at this time are calculated using Breitling's proprietary system and can be used when switching to a purchase. The system will provide an individual estimate for the purchase price of the watch. The reason this is not a uniform standard but an individual approach is because the watch being purchased is a fully refurbished product.

Damage to the watch and returns

　Subscribers must return their watches in the same good condition as when they were received, normal wear and tear excluded. If Breitling determines that a returned item is damaged beyond normal wear and tear, it may assess and charge the subscriber for losses due to negligence.
