Jaeger-LeCoultre opens experiential flagship boutique in Shanghai

Jaeger-LeCoultre has opened a new flagship boutique at Shanghai's K11 Art Mall. A warm and inviting space that embodies the spirit of Jaeger-LeCoultre, the boutique offers guests a deeper understanding of the brand and a glimpse behind the scenes of the Manufacture.

A beautiful facade made up of glass

　Jaeger-LeCoultre opened a new boutique in the K11 Art Mall, a large shopping mall in the heart of Shanghai, in 2022. The facade of this flagship boutique facing the main street is covered in glass tiles inspired by tavaillon (wooden tile), a cladding material traditionally used on buildings in the Vallée de Joux to withstand the harsh winter climate, expressing the brand in a new way.

　Combining traditional elements with modern technology, the glass shingle is backlit to create a sense of constantly changing colour and movement. This captivating display evokes the exterior of Jaeger-LeCoultre's workshops and reflects the surrounding landscape, changing its appearance depending on the weather and the time of day.

An immersive store where you can experience the brand's worldview

　Upon entering the boutique, guests are greeted by a display case showcasing highlights from the collection. Next to the glass display case, a wall of movements catches the eye, allowing visitors to appreciate a selection of Jaeger-LeCoultre's signature movements. After viewing the actual movements, visitors can learn more about them in the boutique's digital showcase, or continue their learning experience on WeChat, where more calibers are displayed in AR.

　Guests are naturally guided to the next area of ​​the boutique, where they can experience personalization. By learning about the history of the brand's signature collection, the Reverso, they can understand why Reversos are more likely to feature personalized emblems than other watches, giving them the special joy of being unique. Next to the Reverso display is a "strap bar," where guests can choose their personalization options and combine them with a collection of straps compatible with all Jaeger-LeCoultre models.

　Guests then move on to a space where they can learn more about the Manufacture and the expertise associated with watchmaking: a film narrates the beautiful setting of the Vallée de Joux, the secrets of enameling, engraving and anglage, as well as the design and research processes that lead to continuous innovation.

　Reaching the heart of the boutique is the Atelier d'Antoine, where visitors can discover the most refined expression of Jaeger-LeCoultre's know-how not only through fascinating displays but also through the Discovery Workshop, which allows visitors to experience watchmaking firsthand.

　This faithful recreation of a Swiss Manufacture atelier is the first of its kind outside of Switzerland. The Discovery Workshop offers a new way to discover the world of watchmaking. It combines lectures and practical activities with lively interaction between instructors and participants, providing a unique opportunity to experience the work of a watchmaker.
