Omega ambassador Ryoyu Kobayashi wins gold medal

OMEGA congratulated its brand ambassador, Ryoyu Kobayashi, on winning the gold medal in the ski jumping event at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games. As the timekeeper for the 30th time at this event, OMEGA continues to support and follow the world's top athletes.

　OMEGA ambassador Ryoyu Kobayashi won the gold medal in the men's normal hill ski jumping event at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games held on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

　Kobayashi took the lead with a 104.5m jump in the first round, and then with a stable second jump of 99.5m, achieved the remarkable feat of winning the gold medal at this tournament. As soon as he landed, he pumped his fist in a fist and hugged his brother, Junshiro Kobayashi, who was watching from below, showing his joy at being certain of winning the medal.

The limited edition Seamaster model shines brightly on Kobayashi's wrist

　Before leaving for Beijing, Kobayashi posted the following tweet on his social media. On his wrist is a limited edition Seamaster Aqua Terra watch created to celebrate the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games. The frosted white ceramic dial evokes winter sports, and the case back features the Games emblem. It will surely shine even more brightly on his wrist after winning a gold medal.

　This marks the 30th time that OMEGA has served as the official timekeeper for the ski jumping event in which Kobayashi competed. The event will use cutting-edge timing technology to instantly measure the wind direction and speed that blows across the jump, as well as the speed at takeoff, the 30-meter mark, and landing, and provide real-time data to venues and television viewers.
