Hamilton PSR digital watch now available in all black

Hamilton has announced an all-black model of the Hamilton PSR. Based on the design of the P2, released in 1973, it has been given modern specifications. Pre-sales will begin on March 11, 2022.

Hamilton adds new variations to its popular digital watch

　The Hamilton Pulsar was released in 1970 as the world's first LED digital watch. In 2020, marking its 50th anniversary, Hamilton reissued this groundbreaking model as the Hamilton PSR, generating significant buzz. This year, an all-black model has been added to the Hamilton PSR.

　The original Hamilton Pulsar was first released in 1970, followed by the P1, limited to 400 pieces with an 18K gold bracelet, in 1972, and the regular P2 model in 1973. Its popularity was fueled not only by its innovative design, which lit up an LED to display the time when a push button was pressed, but also by its retro-futuristic appearance, which challenged conventional wristwatch design.

　The Hamilton PSR, a reissue model, follows the design of the P2 while offering modern upgrades. The hybrid display, which combines LCD (liquid crystal display) and OLED (organic light-emitting diode), reduces power consumption and allows the time to remain lit at all times. The push button, which was used to illuminate the LED on the original, is now used to adjust the display brightness and time.

　The newly released all-black model will be available for pre-sale from March 11, 2022. Pre-orders began on February 25, 2022, at Hamilton stores in Tokyo, the official online store, the official online store of select shop BEAMS, and stores that carry the BEAMS label. BEAMS plans to sell 100 units.
