Casio has announced the new MRG-B5000 model in the MR-G series, the flagship of its G-SHOCK shock-resistant watch line. This model is the first in the series to feature the square design of the original model, and boasts a high-quality finish. It will be available for purchase from Saturday, March 12, 2022.

A "luxury" G-SHOCK with a new case structure
G-SHOCK is known for its high performance in withstanding strong impacts. Casio has added the new MRG-B5000 to its top-of-the-line MR-G series.
This model is the first square case model in the MR-G series, inheriting the square design of the first G-SHOCK model, the DW-5000C, which was released in 1983. Crafted using skilled polishing techniques and cutting-edge materials, this G-SHOCK exudes brilliance and style.

At first glance, this model may look like the popular "Full Metal" model in the G-SHOCK series, but thanks to its new case structure and high-quality finish, it is a completely different piece of work. A new case structure, the "Multi-Guard Structure," was developed and incorporated into this model in order to polish even the finer surfaces of the bezel.

The bezel, which is made up of 25 parts, incorporates shock-absorbing components to ensure the same shock resistance as conventional G-SHOCKs. Furthermore, this uneven bezel can be polished down to the last detail, achieving a beautiful finish befitting a luxury watch.
The bracelet also features a structure in which separate pins are embedded in round holes drilled into the surface, making it possible to polish even the finest details, resulting in a clean, smooth surface.

Furthermore, attention has been paid not only to the finishing and polishing but also to the materials themselves, using cutting-edge materials developed in Japan. The top of the bezel is made of "COBARION," a cobalt-chrome alloy that is approximately four times harder than pure titanium and has the same shine as platinum, while the bracelet is made of "DAT55G," a titanium alloy that is approximately three times harder than pure titanium and has excellent workability.
The MRG-B5000 is made with an abundance of cutting-edge materials developed in Japan that are scratch-resistant and maintain the beauty of their mirror finish for a long time. Through skilled polishing and carefully selected materials, the square design of the original model has been perfected to create a model worthy of being included in the top-of-the-line series.
