Longines launches HydroConquest XXII Commonwealth Games, a limited edition model commemorating the international sports event it supports

Longines has announced that it will serve as the official timekeeper for the Commonwealth Games, covering the three tournaments from the 22nd to the 24th. In addition, to commemorate the 22nd tournament in Birmingham, England, the brand will release a limited edition model, the HydroConquest XXII Commonwealth Games.

Special "HydroConquest" to celebrate the 22nd Commonwealth Games

　The Commonwealth Games is an international multi-sport event featuring athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. Longines has announced that it will serve as the Official Timekeeper for three consecutive years, starting with the 22nd Games in 2022. To commemorate the 2022 Birmingham Games in England, the brand will be selling a limited edition of 2022 HydroConquest XXII Commonwealth Games watches.

The HydroConquest is Longines's modern diver's watch. It has a sturdy case with a water resistance of 300m, a large crown guard, and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a scratch-resistant ceramic insert (some models have an aluminum insert).

　Another appealing feature is that in addition to the classic black dial, it is available in stylish color variations such as blue, green, and gray. The movement inside, Cal. L888, is an exclusive movement manufactured by ETA exclusively for Longines. Not only does it have a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, but the thinness of the movement itself also contributes to the overall slimness of the case.

The HydroConquest XXII Commonwealth Games cleverly incorporates the worldview of the Commonwealth Games into this base model. The numbers on the black bezel and the minute track on the dial are colored in the Commonwealth Games logo, further enhancing the sporty look of the HydroConquest.

　The center of the case back is engraved with the words "LIMITED EDITION" and "1 OUT OF 2022" along with the logo of the 2022 Birmingham, England tournament, satisfying the desire to own a limited edition model.
