The "Glossy Collection" is a collaboration between the long-established Kyoto weaver "Sawaya Jubei" and Jean Rousseau.

Jean Rousseau, a luxury French leather goods brand, will begin selling the "Glossy" collection, a collaboration with Sawaya Jubei VIII, a long-established Kyoto weaving company founded in 1776, from late March 2022.

A masterpiece that combines outstanding obi and high-quality leather

　The obi fabrics used in the collaboration products by Sawaya Jubei include "Kodai Nishiki" and "Karikura Sarasa," which have over 400 patterns and 1000 base colors. The surplus material generated during the obi production process is used as the material. To match the obi fabric, items with materials and colors that go well with the obi fabric are selected from the leather collection (card cases, business card holders, wallets, etc.) that have the same texture.

　Sawaya has been producing kimonos and obi of exceptional quality for nearly 250 years since its founding in 1776. The current head of the family, Sawaya Jubei, is the eighth generation of a family of weavers. Sharing a mutual respect for craftsmanship and meticulous attention to materials, Sawaya and Jean Rousseau have teamed up to create the "Glossy" collection, which combines exceptional obi with precious leathers.
