The "Damien Hirst: Sakura" exhibition, organized by the National Art Center, Tokyo and the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, is currently being held. This is the first large-scale solo exhibition in Japan of Damien Hirst, a leading British contemporary artist, and is an international traveling exhibition that was held at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris from July 6, 2021 to January 2, 2022.

The National Art Center, Tokyo is lined with cherry blossoms in full bloom
The artist himself selected 24 large-scale paintings from his "Cherry Blossom" series, which consists of 107 pieces, some of which are over 5 meters tall and 7 meters wide. They invite us into a fantastical world, as if we were standing beneath rows of cherry blossom trees in full bloom, yet fleeting in their ephemeral beauty. The exhibition runs until Monday, May 23rd.

The painted landscapes invite us into a fantastical world, as if we were standing beneath rows of cherry blossoms, fleeting yet vibrant in full bloom. In 2021, the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain presented this series for the first time in the world, where it received high praise. This will be an opportunity for many people who have felt a sense of stagnation due to the COVID-19 pandemic to fully enjoy the charm of pictorial expression.
