[New for 2022] Capek "Antarctic Rattrapante Ice Blue"

Capek has unveiled the latest edition of its Antarctic Rattrapante, a sporty openwork split-seconds chronograph highlighted by touches of blue on the hands and subdial ring.

　The striking visual aspect that inspires excitement and a sense of superiority for the wearer is the dance of the split-seconds chronograph levers and cams on the dial side, and the movement of the clamp that instantly secures one of the chronograph wheels when the split-seconds mechanism is activated. When the crown is pushed in, the chronograph hands begin counting. Pushing the crown in again stops one hand, while the other hand continues counting. Pushing the crown in a further time releases the clamp, allowing the locked split-seconds hand to "catch up" (rattraper in French) with the chronograph hands.

　The Rattrapante Ice Blue is powered by the high-performance Czapek SHX 6 caliber. Crafted in collaboration with Chronode, it's a work of art both mechanically and aesthetically. The split-seconds hand is powered by energy extracted from the second wheel. The movement uses a horizontal clutch instead of a vertical one to emphasize the beauty of the transmission. Furthermore, the number of parts and thickness were kept to a minimum to ensure the watch's streamlined appearance, as everything had to fit into a 42.5 mm case.
