[New for 2022] Patek Philippe unveils new watch featuring both annual calendar and travel time function

Patek Philippe unveiled the Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G at Watches & Wonders 2022. This vintage-inspired watch is the brand's first complication, combining an annual calendar with a dual time zone display and a travel time function.

A new vintage-style travel watch

　At Watches & Wonders 2022, Patek Philippe unveiled the new Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G, a watch with a completely new look and a complex mechanism. Featuring a newly designed case adorned with a Clous de Paris motif, this timepiece, as its name suggests, features an annual calendar that only needs to be adjusted once a year, and a Travel Time function that displays the time information for travel.

　Perhaps most striking is the new Calatrava-style exterior: the case, measuring 41mm in diameter and 11.07mm thick, is crafted from 18K white gold and adorned with the brand's signature Clous de Paris guilloched flanks.

　The striking dial is reminiscent of vintage watches of the past. The anthracite finish with a black gradient that darkens from the center to the periphery is stunning, and the texture of the dial surface is reminiscent of the grip of an antique camera. The hands and Arabic numerals are coated with luminous material, ensuring visibility in the dark.

A complex mechanism that's useful when traveling

　This watch combines an annual calendar with a dual time zone travel time function. To achieve these two functions, Patek Philippe engineers developed a new movement, the caliber 31-260 PS QA LU FUS 24H, in which the travel time mechanism controls the annual calendar and allows the date to be adjusted both forward and backward.

　This dual time zone display is achieved by two central hour hands, one for home time and one for local time, as in the past, but the local time is adjusted by pulling out the crown rather than by using a push button, a design that has been considered not only technically but also aesthetically, while maintaining the elegant impression of the Calatrava case.

　Additionally, the annual calendar features a faster-rotating disc, ensuring proper synchronization of the date display with the local time. This exceptional in-house movement currently has eight pending technical patents.

　The watch also comes with two interchangeable straps: one in beige calfskin with a nubuck finish, and the other in black calfskin with an embossed fabric pattern and beige stitching, both of which have 18K white gold buckles.
