[New for 2022] Introducing the Patek Philippe Calatrava 5226G in vintage style

At Watches & Wonders 2022, Patek Philippe announced a new Calatrava model, one of the brand's signature collections. The new case features a Clous de Paris pattern on the side, and the smooth dial evokes the atmosphere of a vintage watch.

　Watches & Wonders 2022 is an event where various watch brands announce new watches. One of the noteworthy models announced by Patek Philippe this time is the 5226G, a new addition to the Calatrava collection, which maintains the classic style that is symbolic of the brand.

　Since 1932, Patek Philippe has been developing the Calatrava collection while maintaining its sleek form, based on the iconic round case. The latest Calatrava unveiled this time features a completely redesigned case with a Clous de Paris guilloched pattern on the side of the case.

　To achieve this pattern on the entire side of the case (excluding the lugs), Patek Philippe engineers developed a special case structure in which the lugs are integrated into the case back. This unique structure can be seen when viewing the watch from the side.

　The distinctive dial is reminiscent of vintage watches of the past. It features an anthracite finish with a black gradient that darkens from the center to the periphery. The dial surface also has a rough texture reminiscent of the grip of an antique camera. The hour and minute hands extending from the center and the individually set Arabic numerals are coated with luminous paint, allowing you to check the time even in the dark.

　The movement is the in-house automatic caliber 26-330 SC with date display. It has a stop-seconds function that stops the second hand when the crown is pulled, and the transparent case back allows you to see the beautiful finish, including the gold rotor.

　The watch also comes with two interchangeable straps: one in beige calfskin with a nubuck finish, and the other in black calfskin with an embossed fabric pattern and beige stitching. Both straps feature 18K white gold buckles, allowing you to completely change the look of your watch.
