The dial is made of forest green 18K gold, the case has vertical satin-finished sides and lugs, and the bezel is polished, giving it a sophisticated look down to the smallest details.

The hunter case back can be opened by simply pressing the push button on the crown, revealing the ultra-thin movement, Caliber LUC 96.01-L. The inside of the case back is engraved with a honeycomb motif and the Chopard Manufacture inscription.

Chopard and the "bee" motif

Until the 1920s, Chopard used a bee-themed symbol as its logo. Pieces from that time featured an engraved beehive on the movement and the underside of the case. When Chopard Manufacture opened in 1996, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele reintroduced the classic beehive image to several models in the LUC collection as a tribute to the house's founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard.

The inside of the Hunter case back is also engraved with a bee and honeycomb, a touch that is done by hand to make each watch unique.

By adopting the bee design, the brand expresses that the bee's inherent qualities of diligence, honesty, humility, and teamwork, which are essential elements for achieving results through collaboration, are in line with the brand's manufacturing philosophy. Furthermore, the honeycomb structure refers to a structure in which regular hexagons or hexagonal prisms are lined up without gaps. The honeycomb structure may have already inspired the brand in the 1920s, as it is a structure that can utilize materials as efficiently as possible without compromising strength.

In 1997, the LUC collection was born, equipped with this revolutionary movement, and the 18K yellow gold "LUC 1860" was announced. The first timepiece from Chopard Manufacture won the Watch of the Year award from the Swiss watch magazine "Montres Passion (Uhrenwelt)," so it is a movement that Chopard has a deep attachment to.

The LUC 96.01-L is equipped with a 22K ethical gold micro-rotor whose high inertia optimizes efficiency, and Chopard Twin Technology's stacked double barrels ensure a power reserve of approximately 65 hours.

First developed by Chopard Manufacture in 1996, the caliber is COSC chronometer-certified and bears the Hallmark of Geneva.

Chopard co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele places great importance on chronometer certification, and his strong commitment has led to research into the precision of LUC models, with all LUC models equipped with a small seconds hand being certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
