[New for 2022] TAG Heuer releases the Formula 1 Ayrton Senna Special Edition, paying tribute to the legendary F1 racer

TAG Heuer has announced the new Formula 1 Calibre 16 Chronograph Ayrton Senna Special Edition, which pays tribute to brand ambassador Ayrton Senna. The watch features a red and black color scheme and features Senna's name engraved on the bezel.

　TAG Heuer has announced a new model in honor of its ambassador, Ayrton Senna, featuring his original colors of red and black. The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Calibre 16 Chronograph Ayrton Senna Special Edition is a sports chronograph inspired by the cockpit of an F1 car.

　TAG Heuer and Ayrton Senna have a long history of collaboration, dating back to 1988, when Senna dominated F1, becoming world champion in 1988, 1989, and 1991. Paying homage to Senna's legacy, TAG Heuer continues its quest to create the perfect Formula 1 watch worn by the legendary driver.

　For this model, the brand's designers chose Senna's signature red colorway, inspired by his original watch, and combined it with black to cover the dial and bezel, featuring Senna's iconic "S" logo on the bezel and on the subdial at 6 o'clock.

　The red accent color of the entire watch is featured on the pusher and crown at 2 o'clock, as well as the "double S" at 12 o'clock. The sporty yet elegant design unique to this watch is accentuated by the azure finish and this sub-dial.

　The beautiful anthracite-colored sunray-finish dial features minute, hour, and second chronograph counters for a functional finish. The rhodium-plated applied indexes and hands are finished with white Super-LumiNova® for instant visibility at any speed and under any lighting conditions. Another key feature is the highly durable black ceramic bezel, engraved with the number "400," symbolizing the 400 km/h speed never reached in an F1 race.

　While its design is modern, it pays homage to the first TAG Heuer chronograph worn by Ayrton Senna and its famous "S/EL" bracelet. The shock-resistant bracelet features a folding clasp with a screwdriver extension, designed to fit over the sleeve of a racing suit.
