Casio releases a new Pro Trek watch with a square bezel, inspired by the "bushcraft" camping style beloved by outdoor enthusiasts.

Casio has announced three new models in its Pro Trek outdoor watch series, each featuring a rectangular stainless steel bezel. The new models feature a design inspired by the primitive camping style of "bushcraft" and are equipped with numerous functions useful for the outdoors. Biomass plastic is used in part of the exterior.

A multi-functional outdoor watch with a solid design

　Casio has announced three new models in its Pro Trek outdoor watch series, all featuring square bezels. These models feature a solid design that is different from previous models, but are also multifunctional and suitable for mountain climbing and trekking.

　The theme of this model is the primitive camping style of "bushcraft." Bushcraft is a camping style for advanced campers who live in nature relying on minimal tools and their own wisdom. The stainless steel rectangular bezel that characterizes the watch's appearance is designed with a motif of one of the key items, a rugged axe used for chopping firewood.

　The top surface is finished with a concentric, finely milled line, while the slopes and sides are given a hairline and mirror finish for a three-dimensional look, and then IP treatment is applied to give it a powerful look. The dial, decorated with a rough, irregular pattern, evokes the texture of cast metal, reminiscent of a Dutch oven. Playful details, such as the white, yellow, and red second hand reminiscent of a campfire flame and the knife-shaped hands on the inner dial, add to the outdoor atmosphere.

　The middle case and back cover are made of lightweight resin. The large, easy-to-operate crown is screw-down, ensuring water resistance. The strap is made of soft urethane.

　The case back, middle case, and strap are made from biomass plastic containing ingredients extracted from castor beans and corn, and are environmentally friendly, helping to reduce CO2 emissions. One variation, the PRW-6900YL, features a flame-retardant leather strap that is resistant to sparks, but this does not use biomass plastic.

　Equipped with a radio-controlled solar movement, it is basically maintenance-free, and is equipped with a full range of functions, including world time, chronograph, timer, alarm, full auto-calendar, LED light, and compass, altitude, barometer, and thermometer. It is also low-temperature resistant, allowing it to be used in environments as low as -10°C.
