Two commemorative limited edition models that resonate with the ideals of Ichikawa Ebizo and Seiko
Two limited edition models have been added to the Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series to commemorate the succession of Kabuki actor Ichikawa Ebizo to the name of Ichikawa Danjuro XIII. These models are designed to evoke the spirit of Ichikawa Ebizo, a leading Japanese Kabuki actor and Seiko Holdings Group Ambassador, to "always continue to challenge himself."

The lineup includes the SARW063, which features a hand-type calendar and power reserve indicator, and the simple three-hand model SARX101. Both models feature a black case, a persimmon-colored gradient dial, and gold-colored indexes and hands.
The persimmon color is a traditional Japanese color that originated from the sliding screens worn by Ichikawa Danjuro V in the Ichikawa family play "Shima." It is a color that is fitting to symbolize Ichikawa Ebizo, who inherited the art of the Naritaya Ichikawa family.

The multi-hand model "SARW063." Two subdials display the date and day of the week, with a power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock. Automatic (Cal. 6R21). 29 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 45 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 40.2mm, thickness 12.2mm). Water resistant to 10 bar. Limited to 2000 pieces worldwide (300 in Japan). The dial features the hemp leaf pattern, a design common to the "Sharp Edged Series." The three-dimensional design, crafted from a 0.4mm thick metal plate, represents hemp, a plant that is strong and fast-growing, and has long been considered a symbol of growth and success. Additionally, the hemp leaf pattern was often incorporated into Kabuki costumes, becoming a popular fashion item during the Edo period, when Kabuki began to gain popularity.

The SARX101 is a three-hand model. It features a long power reserve movement and a slim case. Despite its gradient dial, the gold-colored indices and hands create a high contrast, improving legibility. Automatic movement (Cal. 6R35). 24 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 39.3mm, thickness 11.1mm). Water resistant to 10 bar. Limited to 2000 pieces worldwide (300 in Japan). Price: 121,000 yen (tax included). Scheduled for release on Monday, November 7, 2022.
The black horse leather strap has a simple yet bold design, while the reverse side is persimmon-colored, inspired by the "ura-kasari" style of dressing the inside of Japanese clothing, which was inspired by the prohibition of extravagance imposed during the Edo period, which prohibited townspeople from wearing extravagant clothing.

This work will be limited to 2000 units worldwide, with only 300 of each available in Japan. It is scheduled to be released on Monday, November 7, 2022.
