Omega has announced the new third-generation De Ville Prestige collection. There are six models available, both for men and women. The lineup includes a total of 138 models, with a variety of dial color and case material combinations. Here, we introduce six carefully selected models by type.
The revamped third-generation De Ville Prestige
The De Ville is one of Omega's most elegant models in its extensive lineup. This time, the De Ville Prestige collection, which combines modern and classic styles, has been updated to its third generation.
This men's model features a small seconds hand at 9 o'clock and a power reserve indicator at 6 o'clock. The indicator is a 270° crescent moon with four recessed sections, inherited from the previous model. Automatic winding (Cal. 8810). 35 jewels. 25,200 vph. Power reserve approximately 55 hours. The De Ville Prestige model was first released in 1994. The slim case shape and dial design, a blend of modern and classic styles, were born at this time and were carried over to the second-generation model released in 2012.
The models that have been updated in 2022 include the De Ville Prestige 41mm with small seconds, the De Ville Prestige 41mm with small seconds and power reserve display, the De Ville Prestige 40mm with center seconds, the unisex De Ville Prestige 34mm with center seconds, the simple two-hand De Ville Prestige 30mm, and the smallest in the collection, the De Ville Prestige 27.5mm.
This men's model features a date display at 3 o'clock and a small seconds hand at 6 o'clock. The photo shows an elegant watch with an 18K Sedna™ gold case. This new collection also inherits many elements from its predecessor. The case and bezel design have been dubbed the "Triple Apple," and the tapered "Bacine" shape from the bezel to the case back gives the watch a slimmer appearance.
The dial features the same highly legible Roman numerals as previous models, and the popular seven-link polished bracelet style is also retained. The familiar look of past models has been further enhanced with Omega's latest technology, with 18K Sedna™ gold replacing the 18K red gold model. The PVD-coated colored dial also gives the collection a new look. The "DE VILLE" lettering below the Omega brand logo has also been removed.
This men's model features the most standard center seconds. The photo shows a combination model made of stainless steel and 18K Sedna™ gold, and the bombe dial allows for a case thickness of 9.93mm. One particularly significant innovation is the thinner case of the 40mm and 41mm models. By replacing the usual flat dial with a domed bombé dial, a cavity is created below the dial, providing space for the movement. In particular, the De Ville Prestige 40mm with center seconds is the first men's model to be less than 10mm thick, at 9.93mm. However, not all models have bombé dials; some with flat dials are 10.36mm thick.
This ladies' model houses the automatic Caliber 8800, also found in the 40mm model, in a 34mm case. It features Omega's unique 2-in-1 finish and a new lavender PVD-coated dial. The quality of the dial is noteworthy
The Roman numerals on the surface of the domed dial are formed to follow the curves of the dial, fitting perfectly to the dial surface. While the applied indexes may appear simple at first glance, they are a lengthy process. To make the watch appear even slimmer than the second-generation model of the same size, the minute and second hands feature curved tips, and the watch features a smooth, domed sapphire crystal. The curved design has been improved to accentuate the slim design, creating an even more elegant feel.
The dial options are numerous, with models featuring completely different colours and finishes. Many models feature a radial sun-brushed finish, a lustrous crystal finish that differs between men's and women's models, an embossed "Clous de Bienne" pattern, and Omega's unique 2-in-1 finish, which combines a random vertical pattern with a radial sun-brushed finish. Additionally, there are also models available in black and white mother-of-pearl.
This small ladies' model features a two-hand quartz movement. The combination of stainless steel and 18K yellow gold creates an elegant finish. Quartz movement (Cal. 4061). 18K yellow gold and stainless steel case (30mm diameter, 7.29mm thick). Water resistant to 30m. Price: 759,000 yen (tax included).
In addition, to match the thinner case, the bracelet and leather strap have also been slimmed down. The tapered edges of the bracelet and the width of the links have been revised, and the connection to the case has been improved, giving it a more refined look. The clasp has been changed from the conventional sliding type to a butterfly clasp with a pusher.
This ladies' model features the collection's smallest 27.5mm case. Both the case and bracelet are crafted from 18K Sedna™ gold, and the bezel is seamlessly set with diamonds. It features quartz movement (Cal. 4061). The 18K Sedna™ gold case (27.5mm diameter, 7.23mm thick) is water resistant to 30m. Priced at 3,861,000 yen (tax included).
