Patek Philippe has unveiled the new 5316/50P, featuring a minute repeater, tourbillon, perpetual calendar with retrograde date hand, and moon phase display, and a smoky gradient sapphire crystal dial.

Manual winding (Cal. R TO 27 PS QR). 28 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 48 hours. Pt case (diameter 40.2 mm, thickness 13.23 mm). Not waterproof.
A Grand Complication Reinterpreted as the Successor to the Ref. 5216

The Grand Complication 5316, which succeeds the legendary 5016 model from 1993 and the 5216 model from 2011, is a complication model that combines a minute repeater, a tourbillon, a perpetual calendar with a retrograde date hand, and a moon phase display.
This new version features a platinum case with a sapphire crystal dial that darkens towards the periphery. This unique design ensures excellent visibility of the various display functions, while also revealing the mechanical heart of the watch, particularly the date and moon phase discs.

Another distinctive feature is the retrograde date and day display, framed by an integrated white gold frame; the date display is crafted from onyx. The time is indicated by white gold faceted dauphine hour and minute hands and rounded baton hour markers, which are expertly applied on the extremely thin sapphire crystal dial, which is just 0.6 mm thick.

Like all tourbillon-equipped watches, the hand-wound movement, Cal. R TO 27 PS QR, meets the Patek Philippe Seal's certification standards and boasts the highest precision of -2~+1 seconds per day. The movement can be viewed through a sapphire crystal case back, which can also be replaced with a solid platinum case back.
The navy blue calfskin strap with an embossed fabric pattern, contrasting cream stitching and a platinum folding buckle complete the watch's contemporary look.

Like all of Patek Philippe's platinum timepieces, the 5316/50P-001 features a brilliant-cut diamond set between the lugs at 6 o'clock, and replaces the current 5316P-001 model with a black enamel dial.
