Eberhard has announced a new special edition "MCMLIX" from its popular Scaphograph collection of diver's watches, featuring a high level of water resistance of 300m. With a brown dial, beige indices, and a brown leather strap, it is a watch that can be enjoyed casually for everyday use.

Hidden numbers in model names
The number 1959 is an important number in the history of the Scaphograph, which dates back to 1959, when Eberhard's first diver's watch, the Scaphograph 100, was released. The "MCMLIX" in this model's name, the Scaphograph 300MCMLIX, stands for M (1000) - C (100) + M (1000) + L (50) - I (1) + X (10) = 1959. The model name pays homage to the original model.

In the same year, they completed the Scaphograph 200, a model waterproof to 200m, and in 1964 they released the Scaphograph 300, a model waterproof to 300m, and eventually succeeded in developing a model waterproof to 1000m.
Eberhard's pursuit of diver's watches was also appreciated by professional users, and in the 1960s they were worn by the legendary free diver Raymond Butcher, known as the father of diving, and his student Luciana Civico, the first female diver.

In 2016, a reissue of the Scaphograph 300 won the sports category of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix (GPHG), the most prestigious luxury watchmaking competition, further demonstrating its technology and reliability to the world.
The brown dial model announced this time as a new addition to the "MCMLIX," a special edition of Eberhard's Scaphograph collection, which is a key player in the diver's watch world. The watch features a warm matte brown dial and a ceramic bezel, making it suitable for more casual everyday use.
It also has the full functionality of an automatic mechanical diver's watch, with a unidirectional rotating bezel, sapphire crystal, and a helium escape valve at 9 o'clock. The case back is engraved with the starfish pattern that is the symbol of the collection, and two straps are available: a vintage-style leather strap and a stainless steel bracelet that matches even formal business situations.
