Breitling has unveiled two new models in its Top Time series, building on the success of its previous collaborations with Deus Ex Machina and Triumph Motorcycles. Now, the brand is stepping things up a notch with the introduction of the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01.

Breitling and custom motorcycle fashion brand Deus Ex Machina have teamed up for the third installment of the Top Time Deus series. This new model, a departure from its colorful predecessors, features a monochrome design with a black dial, three contrasting white subdials, and a tachymeter scale.

Available with either a black racing calfskin strap or a mesh metal bracelet, the dial is accented with red accents and the central chronograph seconds hand, shaped like a lightning bolt like the previous two Top Time Deus models, adds a strikingly vibrant touch.

Now part of Breitling's core collection, the Top Time Triumph receives a premium upgrade this year, equipped with the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01. A new open caseback design offers a view of the sophisticated movement's mechanics, featuring a two-counter display with a tachymeter scale for measuring speed, and Breitling and Triumph logos at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock.

Collectors will surely notice nods to vintage Breitlings, such as the retro logo, mushroom-shaped chronograph pushers, and the "Zorro" dial design. The bowtie motif featured on the Top Time in the 1960s is subtly integrated into the watch using metal brushing techniques, and only stands out in certain lighting.

The atmosphere of the 1960s

The 1960s was a decade of experimentation, fun, freedom, and energy. Motorcycles, sports cars, and living life at full speed were the order of the day. Willy Breitling sensed the changing times and began designing an unconventional chronograph that reflected this spirit. He called it the Top Time.

The tradition continues today, as Breitling continues to partner with the motorsport community to create Top Time designs. This collaboration with Triumph highlights its ice blue dial, a distinctive color that echoes the color of the 1951 Triumph Thunderbird 6T and the rare blue-dial Breitling Top Time Ref. 815 from the 1970s.
