Audemars Piguet has announced a new variation of the Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition, released in 2022. The new model features a 37mm black ceramic case with a tapestry dial featuring an equalizer (VU meter) motif and is equipped with the new automatic caliber 5909. Black ceramic for a vibrant color contrast
The newly announced 37mm Royal Oak Offshore Music Edition features a case, bezel, and screw-down crown all crafted from black ceramic. The beautiful design is complemented by titanium parts, such as the jack plug-in motif, the mixer fader-inspired crown guard, and the bracelet pin buckle.
Ceramic is an extremely hard and malleable material, but it was meticulously crafted to meet Audemars Piguet's quality standards while also highlighting the character of the Royal Oak Offshore and the intricate lines of the case. The ceramic is made in part from zirconium oxide powder mixed with a binder. After sintering at temperatures exceeding 1000°C, a uniform color emerges. Each component is meticulously hand-finished, with polished and satin-brushed finishes, resulting in the alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes that are characteristic of Audemars Piguet.
Latest-generation automatic caliber 5909
This new 37mm variation is equipped with the latest generation automatic hour, minute, and second movement, caliber 5909. The absence of a date display further highlights the dial's colorful motif. Based on the caliber 5900, which debuted in Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak 37mm in 2022, this caliber is thinner and has a higher vibration frequency than its predecessor, the caliber 3120. It also has a 60-hour power reserve.
The titanium and sapphire crystal case back, which reveals the hand-finished movement, is engraved with the words "Limited Edition of 250 Pieces." The case back also displays signature Haute Horlogerie details, including Côtes de Genève, satin-brushed finishes, circular graining, line finishing, and polished chamfers. Another key detail is the NAC-coated 22K pink gold rotor, exclusive to this collection.
