Sinn's Japan-exclusive pilot's watch "556.F-4.II" commemorates the retirement of the F-4 Phantom II jet fighter.

Sinn has announced the 556.F-4.II pilot's watch, commemorating the retirement of the F-4 Phantom II jet fighter in Japan. This model, featuring the insignia of the eight squadrons of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force on the dial, will be sold in Japan in a limited run of 200 pieces.

　Sinn's new "556.F-4.II" is the second in a series of Japan-exclusive pilot watches, created to commemorate the retirement of the F-4 Phantom II jet fighter, affectionately known as the "Phantom," from service in Japan. The F-4 Phantom II fighter jet, popular among aviation enthusiasts, was operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force under the name "F-4EJ" from 1971, and the 301st Squadron at Hyakuri Air Base ended its F-4 Phantom operations in December 2020. The last flight took place on March 17, 2021, at the Air Development and Test Wing at Gifu Air Base, marking the complete retirement of the F-4 from Japan.

　The 556.F-4.II is based on the 556, a model that focuses on the bare essentials, and features a navy blue dial and bar indexes that evoke the image of the open sky. The dial also features the unit marks of the eight squadrons that were equipped with the F-4 Phantom in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.

　This time, it is equipped with a new date display, the sapphire crystal crystal is water resistant to 20 atmospheres, and the rotor visible through the see-through case back is engraved with the Phantom official character, "Spook."
