Chopard and Bamford team up again with the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition 'Desert Racer'

Following their successful first collaboration in 2021, Chopard and Bamford Watch Department have once again combined their creative talents to present a limited edition Mille Miglia GTS Power Control watch. Featuring orange, grey and black details, large numerals and a woven rubber strap, this timepiece is limited to 50 pieces and reflects the passion that connects Chopard to motorsport.

　The watch is crafted from bead-blasted titanium, boasting high reliability and durability. Combining sophisticated aesthetics with exceptional technology, the watch is equipped with the Chopard 01.08-C movement, a chronometer-certified movement.

A collaboration of creativity

　Limited to 50 numbered pieces, the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition 'Desert Racer' is the result of a collaboration between Chopard Co-President Karl-Friedrich Scheufele and George Bamford, founder of the Bamford Watch Department. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this elegant sports watch is a testament to exceptional craftsmanship and a commitment to quality. It was recently worn by George Bamford as he raced his Meyers Manx buggy through the desert of northern Mexico during the National Off-Road Racing Association finals.

The engine of a high-precision watch

　The Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition 'Desert Racer' boasts an engine boasting astonishing precision and performance within its delicate design. The COSC-certified (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) caliber, Chopard 01.08-C, is developed, manufactured, and assembled entirely in Chopard's watchmaking atelier. This automatic mechanical movement, which ensures a power reserve of approximately 60 hours, displays the hours, minutes, seconds, and date.

The off-road version of the Mille Miglia

　This contemporary timepiece's robust 43mm case is crafted from bead-blasted titanium, an extremely durable and lightweight metal, and features a bezel with a black aluminum gradient inlay. Slim, short lugs ensure a snug fit on the wrist, while the integrated rubber strap offers comfortable wear. Ideal for competitive sports, the rubber's textured surface lends it a refined look. Exuding a modern yet timelessly chic aesthetic, this model features a bead-blasted, DLC-coated steel folding buckle. The screw-down caseback, ensuring water resistance to 100 meters, is secured with eight PVD-coated black screws. To complete the color scheme, the see-through tinted crystal caseback, secured with an orange gasket, reveals the in-house movement with its premium finish and openwork rotor.

　This special edition timepiece features striking contrasting gray tones. The frosted black dial is accented with touches of flame orange, the Bamford Watch Department Studio's signature color. Large "12" and "6" Arabic numerals, filled with black Super-LumiNova®, stand out against the dial, meeting motorsports standards for legibility. The large, faceted sword-shaped hands and metallic hour markers are also luminous, ensuring excellent legibility. Just as drivers must constantly monitor their fuel levels during the 1,600-km (1,000-mile) 1000 Miglia race, the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition 'Desert Racer' features a dedicated power reserve display on the dial, inspired by the fuel gauge found in racing cars.
