Bvlgari, which has achieved the remarkable feat of setting eight world records for the thinnest watch for eight consecutive years since 2014 with the Octo Finissimo, will auction an Octo Finissimo made of marble at the Only Watch Charity Auction in 2023. By using marble, which has a strong affinity with the worlds of art and architecture, Bvlgari transforms watchmaking into an artistic masterpiece, making this a special timepiece worthy of Only Watch.
Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Marble

The Octo Finissimo's 110-faceted case is painstakingly covered in thin layers of marble, protecting the delicate components while creating a harmonious visual effect. The dial also features a thin marble plate, just 0.6mm thick. The bracelet, which requires the most delicate workmanship, took an unprecedented amount of time to create, with the front and sides of the links adorned with thin marble flakes, while the back is crafted from black DLC titanium.
A lineage of artistic expression using marble
From the Venus de Milo, the Cathedral of Carrara, and the Taj Mahal, from ancient Greece to Italy and Mughal architecture in India, marble has played a special role in the history of art, transcending continents and cultures. As the cathedrals of Pisa, Siena, and Florence, as well as Michelangelo's David, attest, the deep relationship between architecture and marble has also been cultivated in Italy.
Cover with a 0.4-0.5mm thick marble plate

Bvlgari has taken on the most formidable challenge ever: "Making a fine watch covered with thin plates of marble." The 40mm diameter case of the Octo Finissimo is made up of 110 facets, each covered with a thin plate of marble approximately 0.4-0.5mm thick.
The extremely thin marble plates were machined, then finished evenly and smoothly, and finally polished by hand. The completion of the case and bracelet, which requires the most meticulous work, took a total of approximately one month.
Reaching the pinnacle of technology

Of particular note is the marble plate set into each bracelet link, covering the top and sides of each link, while the back of the bracelet is made of black DLC titanium. The tourbillon can be seen at 6 o'clock on the 0.6mm-thick thin marble dial with indices. The case back is fitted with a sapphire crystal engraved with the Only Watch logo, offering a beautiful view of the ultra-thin 1.95mm hand-wound BVL268 caliber with flying tourbillon. The base model, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon, is 5mm thick, making this model just 1mm thicker at 6mm. A custom-made box made of thin marble was also created specifically for this special timepiece.
