A. Lange & Söhne's Lange 1 Time Zone now available in platinum

　In 2005, A. Lange & Söhne introduced the first Lange 1 Time Zone, featuring the Maison's distinctive dial design. This timepiece allowed the wearer to select a city corresponding to 24 time zones in addition to their home time. In 2020, the second generation expanded this cosmopolitan model with the addition of the in-house caliber L141.1, which intuitively displays daylight saving time. Now, the collection features a simple, classic model with a new case made of 950 platinum and a rhodium-colored dial.

Dual day/night and daylight saving time indicators

　The larger dial displays the home time, while the smaller dial displays the time in the second time zone. Pressing the button at 8 o'clock rotates the 24-city ring from west to east, switching to the next time zone. At the same time, the hour hand on the smaller dial advances one hour, and the gold triangular index indicates the time in the representative city of the time zone. Another practical display feature is the daylight saving time marker, which indicates whether the time zone in question observes daylight saving time by changing the color of the triangular index. If daylight saving time is observed, a red marker appears in the triangular index. If the region observes standard time throughout the year, the aperture remains light-colored.

Unique synchronization mechanism

　Pulling the crown out to the second position allows the two time zones to be adjusted synchronously. However, if you press and hold the button for setting the second time zone, the hour hand for the time zone will stop in that position. This allows you to set the newly set main time independently of the time zone. Finally, if you need to adjust the outsize date, which is linked to the main time, you can do so using the pusher at 10 o'clock.

In-house caliber L141.1

　The Lange 1 Time Zone is powered by the in-house caliber L141.1, which boasts a 72-hour power reserve thanks to a single barrel. The movement also features signature details, including a free-sprung balance spring with a vibration rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a screw balance. The sapphire-crystal caseback reveals Lange's hallmarks of quality, including the German silver three-quarter plate, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, the intricate swan-neck precision regulator, and the hand-engraved balance cock and intermediate wheel bridge. The movement, assembled twice and featuring hand-engraved details, demonstrates A. Lange & Söhne's highest standards of quality.
