An honest and stalwart man from the land of the rising sun
GuThe Land Seiko series is a long-running series that first launched in 1960. For a long time, it was sold exclusively in Japan, but recently, it finally made its long-awaited debut in Germany. Seiko offers a wide variety of models, and is a beloved brand in Germany, with many enthusiasts. The company's luxury line, Grand Seiko, also enjoys a passionate fan base. Our editorial team was a little excited when we reported on the brand's arrival in Germany (Japanese editorial note: In 2012, the German edition's March 2012 issue featured Grand Seiko). However, we have since come to a more detached realization that perhaps we were overly effusive and only made positive judgments. Whether our assessment was accurate or not will depend on daily use and analysis. However, what we can say at this stage is that Grand Seiko is, in fact, the pinnacle of Japanese watchmaking technology. At least with regard to the high-frequency version, the Grand Seiko Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000, featured here, this assessment appears to be correct. However, we should still be cautious about this issue, and to that end, we would like to carefully collect and verify data.
